Hi there:
I am new here and I wanna to know if there will be problem if I manufacture in China and ship my boards to customers in US? Also, if I make the pcba by myself at EU, do I need to apply COO for reducing the Tariff of US? What is your solutions?
I am in a similar situation, where I design the kit in Australia, have the PCB manufactuered in cina, shipped to me in Australia, where I pull all the little parts together into baggies and provide documentation, etc. The amount of work that goes int the design, and the packaging up of the parts, I do honestly feel that the Country of Origin, is indeed Australia, despite most of the parts being manufactured in China. This bring the Tariff rate down to 10% which I add to the shipping cost of any items going to the USA.
In case this may be approved (just submitted it now) I wanted to let anyone know of a possible workaround this Tariff situation has caused. Here is a link to the item I have added to my shop. I basically ask the buyer to do some math and add in the correct amount of “Tariff Units” to cover the the amount that will be collected by the USA.
