The seller of defective item refuses to buy and provide shipping code

Hello,

I recently made my first purchase on Tindie. I bought and paid for an item two weeks ago. It finally arrived, packed in a simple Jiffy bag (!!!) and, of course, smashed.

The seller insists that I now, on top of the previous $80.50 he got, also pay for the return shipping charges.

What is Tindie’s position on this issue? I woild like to hear it before, if unpractical and unreasonable, going to PayPal and requesting a formal refund from them, directly, or AmEx as the final authority on the issue.

I have learnt that it is always the seller responsability in this case, unless you selected that type of package or something like that
