We have been listening, and today we are excited to announce the ability to add price tiers! We, love the Price Tiers feature. However, we ran into a situation the other day that the tiers did not seem to cover. We wanted to allow our customers to buy in singles or groups of 3. The tiers allows for a discounted rate for anything over a certain quantity but does not allow for grouping. Ultimately we ended up just using tiers and accepting the fact that we may lose out on a dollar or two if someone purchase 4 items.

As an example of what I am talking about.

Say we want to charge $10 for one item and $9 if you buy in groups of 3. Well if you buy 4 items we would want you to pay $10 for the 4th item not $9. And if you buy 6 your would pay $9 for all the items.

The reason we wanted to do this is because we figured out our shipping cost and we can ship three items for the same price as shipping one but when we ship the 4th item it cost us a buck or two more.

Thats an interesting case. Totally understand since everything is based upon weight. Hmm something to rethink.

Seems like that could be addressed by the seller with existing shipping and tier rules. It’s not perfect, but it’s doable. Charge just enough extra per item for shipping to cover the tier jumps on weight. Be careful with discounts so you can actually afford to discount at the various tiers. Something like that?
