Enabling Google Analytics in my Store

Hi,

I"m new to Google Analytics, so changes are that I’m setting something wrong. But I double-checked, triple-checked… and it seems that I’m doing everything correctly. Despite that I cannot see any results.

Things that I’ve done:

1. Created Google Analytics “Property”
2. Created a “Data Stream” attached to that “Property”

• Data Stream Web URL: https://www.tindie.com/stores/riq/
• Data Measurement ID is: G-xxxxxxx

3. Copied & Pasted the Measurement ID “Tindie Store Settings” → “Google Analytics ID”

Am I doing something wrong? What am I missing?

You have to use the older type “Univeral Analytics”. The tracking code has to start with “UA”. You can enable it under advanced options when creating a new service. Patreon has a nice page about this: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005135491

Since Universal Analytics is officially winding down, any idea if the new analytics tracking (GA4) is currently or will be working with our Tindie stores?

You can now add your GA4 info at the bottom of the Store Settings page https://www.tindie.com/stores/settings/
