As the title suggests, this can alllow me to put my Tindie store under my own domain name. Is it doable?
Hello,
Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately we do not offer any domain customization at this time.
However, I think it’s a great idea and I will be sure to make note of your post and share it with the rest of my team.
Best,
Tindie Team
Instead of a direct CNAME, I would like to suggest a reverse proxy based custom domain scheme. This way you can reliably tell that it is a custom domain, easily made available to everyone, and there would be no need for you guys to hold SSL certificates. The shop owner would set up a reverse proxy with their own SSL certificate, and add some kind of token into the HTTP request. Your server can detect if the shop owner has set up SSL, and redirect non-secure access to Tindie proper.
Thanks for following up!
We appreciate the well thought out suggestion. I’ll be sure to include it with your original message for consideration.
Best,
